Travel Itinerary

A temple in the North of Thailand

Monday, October 27th  

  • Arrive in Chiang Mai. YAY!!!  Margie and her assistant/tour guide Ghan will pick you up at the airport if you’re not on the same flight as Margie.  

  • Once we arrived at the hotel, we will help you check in, familiarize and get you settled in your room. 

 

Tuesday, October 28th 

  • Enjoy the breakfast buffet open from 6:30 am to 9:30 am. 

  • Walking tour 

  • Meet in the lobby at 11:00 am.  

  • First thing will be to exchange money. 

  • Margie will help you familiarize yourself with the area and lesser-known hidden gems and help you set up any optional excursions and explain prices.  

  • Welcome Lunch included (alcoholic beverages not included). 

  • Experience an authentic Traditional Thai Massage at one of Margie’s favorite places. 

  • IF you still have energy to spare you can explore the town, go have dinner on your own, or choose to walk the night bazaar. Margie will make sure you know how to get back to the hotel. 

  • Back to hotel to crash whenever you feel like it!  

 

Wednesday, October 29th  

  • Meet in the lobby at 7:30 am. 

  • Visit Royal Flora Ratchaphruek Park 

  • Explore the various gardens and attractions on a bike or a trolley. 

  • Visit Doi Suthep Temple for 

  • Receiving a blessing from a monk 

  • Have your fortune told 

  • Have your cameras ready to take tons of photos for the scenic drive up, the panoramic views, the amazing architecture, and so much more! 

  • Visit Jade Factory 

  • From Doi Suthep, walk through the Hand Craft Village on the way to the Jade Factory 

  • If you love corn - you WILL LOVE this walk!! - They have amazing Thai street corn on the cob! OR be a little more adventurous by eating one of the many bugs to choose from. Grasshopper anyone?! 

  • Learn how they mine for Jade 

  • Check out the rainbow of different colors of the Jade stone 

  • This is the best place to pick out a unique piece of jewelry 

 

Thursday, October 30th    

  • Meet in the lobby at 7:30 am to Visit Doi Inthanon National Park. 

  • Thailand’s highest point (DON’T FORGET A JACKET) 

  • Walk through the mystical Cloud Forest on the boardwalk. 

  • Enjoy the soothing sounds and gentle mist of the park's majestic Waterfalls. 

 

Friday, October 31st 

  • Meet in the lobby at 7:30 am for a half-day excursion, LUNCH NOT INCLUDED. 

  • Go and enjoy a relaxing ride down the river on a Bamboo Raft to go visit the highly revered gentle giants... 

  • Have fun playing with Thailand’s highly revered Elephants at a well-respected sanctuary. 

  • Return to Hotel by 1pm to enjoy the rest of your day at your leisure. 

 

Saturday, November 1st  

  • Enjoy a Free Day for optional tours or- spoil yourself with another Thai Massage. 

  • Optional tour examples: cooking class, various temples, tour different factories (Sild, Umbrella, Lacquer, just to name a few). 

  • Average price for most optional tours is between $50 - $100 

  • Be sure to save time for the Sunday Walking Street which starts at 5pm, Margie will meet you in the lobby at 4:30 pm to show you how to get there. Take a relaxing stroll to experience the numerous unique vendors and food as far as the eye can see…YUM!!

Sunday, November 2nd to Friday, November 7th  

  • Thai Massage Training (9am – 4pm) at the Famous Old Medicine Hospital where Margie first trained. (MUST BE IN THE LOBBY READY TO GO BY 8am, otherwise you’ll miss the bus!) 

  • Opened to anyone, not just massage therapists - IF interested. 

  • What to bring on your first day of school: 

  • Copy of passport 

  • 3 passport size photos 

  • Comfortable, stretchy, cool clothing (100% cotton is generally cooler). 

  • To be respectful to the Thai culture, PLEASE DO NOT wear shorts, low cut shirts, or tank tops. 

  • Lots of water. 

  • Lunch money ($10 is more than enough). 

  • For non-students: 

  • Enjoy four more free days to explore more of Chiang Mai, also known as the Rose of the North! 

  • Evening of Friday, November 15th (Time to party and celebrate your Graduation!)

Saturday, November 8th  

  • Dinner and graduation celebration at The Old Cultural Center 

  • A party for all your senses! 

  • Enjoy a variety of traditional Thai Music and Dances 

  • The food will blow your mind!! 😀 (alcoholic and specialty beverages not included). 

Sunday, November 9th - Monday November 10th 

  • Loy Krathong 

  • Purchase an authentic Krathong to float down the river. 

  • Enjoy many wonderful parades and activities. 

  • Release a sky lantern into the Chiang Mai sky. 

  • Some popular day time optional tours to enjoy (NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE TRIP) 

  • Perfect time to take any of the long one-day tours such as: 

  • White, Black, and Blue Temples. 

  • Hot Springs and Factory Tours (Umbrella, Silver, Wood, Lacquer, and Silk). 

  • Hill Tribes 

  • Tiger Kingdom 

 

Tuesday, November 11th  

  • Last chance to get a Thai Massage or pamper yourself at a Spa before we head out to the airport.  

  • 7:00 pm leave for the airport.
